Tirza Motivates - Despite Your EmotionsYour emotions should be honored-they are feelings and those feelings communicate a message. Messages of love, excitement, and happiness are examples of feel good emotions. It is in these emotions that we often make good decisions.

But, what about those emotions that send messages of fear, worry, and doubt? It is in these emotions that we can make poor decisions.

Learning how to respond appropriately to our emotions requires self-discipline. It also involves being skilled at evaluating the authenticity of the emotion. Some emotions are designed to trap us, set us up, and stop us from reaching our full potential. Can you discern when you are falling into this trap?

Many of us have brilliant ideas and personal goals we wish to pursue. But, we second guess ourselves and wonder if we can actually pull it off. In the planning and even in the implementation stage of an idea or goal unwelcome emotions creep up and begin to challenge the internal desire of pursuit and even cause an individual to question their capacity to execute well.

I will be the first to admit that I’m guilty of this– but I also deal with it, check it and refuse to let it take me off course.

Some time ago while in my personal time of prayer and meditation I gained insight about how to manage unwanted, negative emotions. It was simple, relevant and valuable – – and I know it will be for you too. It was this…

Despite your emotions, PERSEVERE. Continue to be BOLD, COURAGEOUS and CONFIDENT.

This insight helped me to realize that apprehension, doubt and fear can be expected and will show up from time to time, but to not be put off by it. Instead, trust what I know for sure is true, focus on what I can control and simply do the next best thing—and it’s certainly not to quit. The best thing to do is to keep moving forward.

So together let us persevere with our ideas and goals. Let us refuse any thought or emotion that will take us off track. Let us put the “S” on our chest and achieve every dream we have with courage, boldness, and confidence.

 See you there!
